You'd better check with your Sect. 8 office. They may need to reaccess your voucher to include his income. It's not that they won't let you live together, it's that you have to add his income to the apartment/house rent. I don't know how the felony effects it, but the income, even from SSDI/SSI will effect how much you pay for rent, and I don't think he can move in before you are married, although I may be wrong about that. I think if he did you'd have to have a 2 bedroom apartment. I know if my daughter wanted to have a roommate (even one of the same sex) they'd each have to have their own bedroom, so I presume opposite sexes would also require the same if he moves in before you get married. But call your housing office or call your senator's office and have their staff research it for you. They can get the information for you without mentioning your name and will give you the statutes involved in case the housing authority stonewalls you later.
