My son is peeing blood. What could it be? My son has a traumatic brain injury due to a motorcycle accident. He had the accident on June 2 2002. He had his first ever seizure on Tues in the shower and was air lifted to University of VA Med Center and they checked him out and couldn't find any reason for him to have a seizure but his blood work and urine sample was ok. Now he's peeing blood.... just pink... |

When you are peeing blood this is serious and you definitely need to go and see the doctor to see what is wrong. The motorcycle accident may have ruptured your kidneys and this may be causing the bleeding as the kidney fails to separate urine from the blood. Your son may probably need to be put on temporary dialysis to clear the blood and then will be given medication to heal the kidney. In the meantime you should drink plenty of water and rest to help the kidney heal.

See a Doctor IMMEDIATELY. Bloody Urine is a serious matter and in your son's case it may be the accident did some sort of a damage to his kidney(s). This can be related to his seizures as impaired kidney function almost always lead to Central Nervous System manifestations, mostly due to high concentration of urea in blood.
