Honestly, if you know his background and you know his habits and you have seen him drink excessively, why do you need a doctor to tell you he has impaired his mental function due to his excessive drinking? Seriously, as his wife, you should already know the answer to this question. Best of luck.
Answer 2/2 - Submitted 11/27/2010
Since you don't know my husband, I as his wife on the other hand do know that in the 16 yrs we have been together he hasn't drank excessively since we met, I wanted to know if the past stuff caused things that will be with him for the rest of his life and what I need to do to protect him from people that like to take advantage of him. Without a medical diagnosis I am not able to stand up to these people that think it is funny cause he doesn't understand what they are doing to him. Sure alcoholism is a disease but people have the right to overcome the problem and have a somewhat good life
