How does a women gain weight with being depressed I had a baby back in dec of 2009 and i have lost all the weight and then some. then 2 weeks after my son was born my husband was in a car accident and now has a head injury and has had if for over a year. He is always complaining about thing and always walking in a slump. I know im not healthy at the weight that i am . i was 135 whan i got pregnant and 160 when i deleivered my son. then i dropped to 110. and i cant gain weight trust me i have been triing. i know mmost women want to loose weight not gain it after giving birth. My husbands accident has put alot of stress on me that i even went to work after being om matt leave for only 4 months. I have lost the time with my son for the first year of his life. and i cant get it back. I eat only because i know i have to but most of the time i dont want to cause im not hungry. i have tried lots of different foods and nothing is working, im told that my husbands accident doesnt effect me but i know it does in more ways than one. He never gives me a straight answer its always " i don't know" or " i don't care" i feel like i want to curl up in a ball and hide and the next day i want to die, but i think of my son and it goes away so i think. help me please |

Have you been to a dr? They should rule out thyroid issues (which are common in the first few years after giving birth) They should check your T3 and T4 as well as your TSH levels.
You may also be dealing with depression and need some help with that. You certainly have a LOT on your plate! It sounds like your husband may have some depressive symptoms as well (in which case he should seek treatment, so that he can start being supportive, emotionally if not physically)
Try not to worry about weight specifically. Eat a well balanced diet that makes you feel good, treat yourself to some decadent dessert once a week and try to get some exercise in with your little one. Take a hike, or go to the park for a few hours and run around. It will boost your appetite, and the fresh air will cheer you both up.
